WELL HELLO THERE!
You may already know kataboom! from its former home on Wordpress.
In fact you may be streaming in from there right now!
A couple of things you may want to know:
What has changed about the blog since its transfer to Tumblr?
A couple of differences separate the old WordPress site from the current iteration of kataboom!
Firstly, the blog is in the process of being rebranded - we’re keeping all the best elements of the site you love, stripping away the unnecessary bits and cramming in some cool new features. This means you can expect some new design elements and a little more posting variety.
Secondly, we’re hoping to grow our viewership and bring the excitement of kataboom! to new audiences.
Thirdly, in case you forget: our URL has changed. We’re now kataboom.tumblr.com instead of Wordpress. Simples!
What does the change in management mean for the blog?
We’re still working closely with the former owners of the kataboom! to ensure not only a smooth transition, but also that we can appeal to an already loyal fanbase. We’ll be driving the blog more steadily in the direction of comprehensive release reviews and finding new talent. We’re also going to be linked with a wider ‘wave’ of blogs, in order to provide a more immersive experience.
In under two years kataboom! blog achieved some remarkable viewing figures - nearly 50,000 hits. We’re hoping to nurture and grow that legacy and build something even greater. Our aim is to gather 100,000 page visits in a single year.
So will there still be download links?
Only as and if intended by the artists. This means we’ll only be putting up download links for content that is free, or with the permission of featured artists. Everything else will get a legal streaming link (probably Spotify) and a purchase link (probably Amazon or iTunes).
Is the old blog going to be taken down?
We have no intention as yet of removing the old home of kataboom! although with time it may fade out of significance. It is possible however that download links will be modified and/or updated as meets our new standards.
We really think you’re going to love the new edition of the site. We’ll commence blogging full-time early in 2011, so stay tuned for more updates. Happy Holidays!
